POSITIVE ASPECTS OF SCHIZOPHRENIC REACTION
±èÁß¼ú/Kim, Zoung Soul
Abstract
A brief review of positive interpretations of schizophrenic episodes was made implying that, for certain schizophrenic patients, their illness can be beneficial for overcoming their life-crisis situation. In such a case, psychotherapeutic intervention or antipsychotic Medication can detour the patient away from its natural process of essentially problem-solving endeavor. It is proposed that sometimes psychiatrists should encourage and support the acute schizophrenic episode instead of interfering with tranquilizers.
